Welcome to Emmaus Campus Ministry!
Hello! I hope the new semester is off to a good start. It's a new beginning with a new schedule, classes, ideas and often new commitments. It's always exciting to think about ways we might learn and grow and what we might experience in the semester to come. As you plan your semester we hope you make Emmaus Campus Ministry part of your routine. We have a great semester planned with a great group of people and we invite you to become a part of it!
Maybe it's our Sunday night dinners and discussions – this is the heart of our community building and deeper conversations about life and faith. Or, join us for Worship on Wednesday evenings – this is an opportunity to slow down, listen, pray, sing and for a few minutes…be still. We have great retreats and trips planned, The Well has moved to Wednesdays after worship and for fun, join us as we watch the "Lost" episodes on Tuesday nights.
We are a Christian student group that runs a bit to the left of other campus groups at the University of Montana. We don’t have a lot of answers to the hard questions but we love to ask them. We also don’t have a lot of rules to live by, but we talk about what’s important in life and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We are a community of faith that supports each other, grows together in our spiritual life, forms great friendships, has a lot of fun and enjoys eating good food! All are welcome-no matter what. Maybe you don’t trust organized religion or consider yourself spiritual, but not religious. Maybe you are gay, lesbian or transgendered. Whatever you are or believe you’ll fit right in.
Emmaus Campus Ministry is based out of the newly remodeled Ark building – a student community, living-learning center located directly across from the UM campus at 538 University Avenue. Our offices are located in the Ark and seven students live in the house, providing excellent support and friendship to their fellow students. Next door is the Emmaus House at 532 University where three students live and where we hold our Sunday dinners and discussions plus other special events. Both the Ark and Emmaus House are great places to stop by for conversation, studying or just to hang out! We also have trained and compassionate Peer Ministers who are here to listen, support and walk with students through difficult times. We worship on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm at University Congregational Church.
Pastor John is at the Ark 9-4 during the week but you can also call, text, or e-mail any time.
We invite you to join Emmaus Campus Ministry as you travel along your personal spiritual path at UM.
Peace,
Pastor John
